Jacques Martin's Post-game Comments vs. New Jersey
/ Florida Panthers
On the Panthers play after the two goal lead…
It seemed liked the penalty was a marginal goal and gave them their momentum. They got a goal on a power play. I think it gave them an opportunity to get going and then we turned the puck over and that was the difference. We came back in the third and had some good opportunities and one mistake and the puck’s in our net. It’s a team that when you play them you have to pay a patient game, but it’s tough when you make mistakes and the puck ends up in your net.
On the Devils play…
In the first period the only chance they had was the power play, and in the second period, we were controlling the play, but a couple of mistakes and the puck is in our net. And then we came back and got the third goal in the third to take the lead, and it’s not like they were putting pressure on us, we just got caught on a change and they capitalized.
On the Panthers in the standings…
It’s tough because we probably lose some ground depending on how the other teams do. We just have to look at what we have left, 7 games, and basically we have to look at one game at a time and re-group for Tuesday in Tampa.
