On tonight's win:
You want to win games, but what's important to me is how you play. On Monday we lost to Washington but we played a strong game, which is disappointing and frustrating. It's only since game ten that we've gotten our game in order and what shows that is we've got our plus-minus in our players. Since that game, we're a plus team as far as even strength; the problem before has been penalties. Five-on-five since game eleven has put us in the right direction. I have been preaching that we need to get our specialty teams in order and tonight we got some big performance.
You need the win but sometimes you may win games and you know as a coach you didn't perform well. I think with our guys for sure we needed the win and there were a couple key guys tonight that really helped provide that. I want to emphasize that how we played on Monday showed that we were going in the right direction. Usually when you do a lot of good things, you're going to get a win. When you have a good performance, the wins count.
On tonight's goals:
The last game, his line had seven great scoring chances but did not score at all. Tonight they got three in and it was big. Again, we got some production like from Gratton at the beginning of the game, and the power play goal was a good play by Bouwmeester.
On Nathan Horton:
Nathan has got a good shot, and he is a smart player. He knows how to position himself and he does a lot of the little things right. I think he's probably charged up to play and Bertuzzi's injury gives him the opportunity to play with Jokinen on the first line and you need that kind of production and involvement from him for us to be successful.
