Four Florida Panthers Prospects Selected to Participate in 2016 World Junior Championship

SUNRISE, Fla. – Florida Panthers Executive Vice President and General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that forwards Lawson Crouse, Juho Lammikko, Denis Malgin and goaltender Samuel Montembeault will represent their respective countries at the 2016 World Junior Championship in Helsinki, Finland, from Dec. 26 - Jan. 5.

The 18-year old Crouse will represent Canada for the second time in the World Junior Championship tournament, after winning a Gold Medal with the team last year. Crouse recorded three points (1-2-3) in seven games during the 2015 tournament. The 6-foot-4, 215-pound Mt. Brydges, Ontario native has recorded 24 points (9-15-24) in 22 games this season with the Kingston Frontenacs of the Ontario Hockey League.

Crouse was selected by Florida in the first round (11th overall) of the 2015 NHL Draft.

The 19-year old Lammikko will represent Finland for the first time in the World Junior Championship tournament. The 6-foot-3, 203-pound Noormarkku, Finland native has recorded 28 points (10-18-28) in 30 games with the Kingston Frontenacs (OHL).

Lammikko was drafted by Florida in the third round (65th overall) of the 2014 NHL Draft.

The 18-year old Malgin will represent Switzerland for the second time in the World Junior Championship tournament. Malgin tied for the Swiss team-lead in scoring in last year’s tournament, recording seven points (1-6-7) in six games. The 5-foot-8, 163-pound Olten, Switzerland native has recorded nine points (2-7-9) in 26 games with the ZSC Lions of the Swiss National League A.

Malgin was drafted by Florida in the fourth round (102nd overall) of the 2015 NHL Draft.

The 19-year old Montembeault will represent Canada for the first time in the World Junior Championship tournament. The 6-foot-3, 180-pound Quebec City, Quebec native owns a 7-10-4 record, a 2.79 goals against average, .886 save percentage and one shutout through 22 games with the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.

Montembeault was drafted by Florida in the third round (77th overall) of the 2015 NHL Draft.
