Florida Panthers Announce Hockey Operations Promotions

SUNRISE, Fla. – Florida Panthers President of Hockey Operations Dale Tallon announced today promotions in the club’s hockey operations department. Jason Bukala has been named Co-Director of Amateur Scouting while Al Tuer has been named Head Pro Scout.

Bukala spent the last five seasons with the Panthers as assistant head amateur scout while Tuer spent the last six years as a professional scout.

Additionally, the Panthers announced the hiring of Toby O’Brien as Co-Director of Amateur Scouting. O’Brien has spent the last 20 years working in professional hockey, most recently as the President of Worcester Pro Hockey. Starting in 2006, O’Brien spent five years with the New York Islanders handling multiple personnel roles, including the oversight of minor league player personnel and AHL/ECHL affiliations. He spent the next five years as a scout with the Buffalo Sabres in North America and Europe. Prior to that he spent 10 years in leadership roles with the ECHL’s Johnstown Chiefs.
