Cats Complete Home Sweep Of Lightning

by Staff Writer / Florida Panthers

Only Two Home Games Left As Panthers Go For Wins Record

The Florida Panthers completed their home sweep of the defending Stanley Cup Champion Tampa Bay Lightning with a decisive 6-3 win last night at the BankAtlantic Center. With the win the Cats pushed their season series record against the Lightning to 4-0 at home and 6-2 overall.

"We've been able to score a lot of goals against them and have been winning the games," Cats captain Olli Jokinen told the Miami Herald. "We've had a lot of success against them."

Panthers forward Serge Payer added, "It's a big rivalry, and we can't let them off the hook."

South Florida hockey fans have only two more chances to catch the Cats live this season when they face Washington on Saturday, April 15 at 7:30 p.m. and Atlanta on Tuesday, April 18 at 7 p.m. Both games will feature a host of wonderful Fan Appreciation activities including the "Shirts Off Our Back" event. Panthers players will autograph and give away their game worn jerseys immediately following Tuesday's game against Atlanta.

The Panthers currently have a 24-10-4 home record, one of the best in the NHL, and can tie the record for most home victories in franchise history with wins in both the remaining home games. Florida head coach Jacques Martin assures that the Cats are focused on that goal.
