Busy Weekend in Community Ahead for Panthers

SUNRISE, Fla. – The Florida Panthers Countdown Caravan presented by UnitedHealthcare will make stops at Total Hockey in Deerfield Beach on Saturday, Sept. 12 from noon to 2 p.m. and on Sunday, Sept. 13 from noon to 2 p.m. at Hawk’s Landing in Plantation.

In addition, the Panthers will kick of their Panthers Insider radio show on SportsTalk 790 The Ticket on Saturday morning from 9-10 a.m hosted by “Red Deer” Randy Moller and Jon Zaslow. The 60-minute show provides Panthers fans with an in-depth look at their team, as well as a look at what is happening around the National Hockey League. This week, Panthers Head Coach Pete DeBoer, RW David Booth, D Keith Ballard and G Scott Clemmensen all will join the program.
Cats radio broadcaster Randy Moller will attend both Saturday’s and Sunday’s caravan stop, while Panthers TV broadcaster Steve Goldstein will attend Sunday’s stop. More than 6,500 fans have attended the first seven stops on the Countdown Caravan presented by UnitedHealthcare.
The Countdown Caravan visits various locations throughout South Florida up until the start of the 2009-10 Panthers hockey season and features an incredible grand prize of a limo ride, dinner for four in the Chairman’s Club, four Panthers jerseys and four tickets to Opening Night on Oct. 10.
Designed to get sports fans excited for the start of the Panthers season in Helsinki on Oct. 2 & 3 vs. Chicago and at home on Oct. 10 vs. New Jersey – the Caravan will feature attractions such as the inflatable slap shot competition, Panthers street hockey rink, Bova Panthers Ice Dancers and Stanley C. Panther appearances, food and drink stands, DJ, Panthers prize wheel, giveaways, and more.
