SUNRISE, Fla. – The Florida Panthers will be home for the Thanksgiving holiday this week with two important Eastern Conference games at the BankAtlantic Center. On Wednesday, November 22, the Cats will host their inter-state rivals, the Tampa Bay Lightning. Following the holiday, Florida will host the Ottawa Senators on Friday, November 24. Both games start at 7:30 p.m.
Wednesday night's game will have divisional implications, with the Cats not only playing a rival, but a win would help propel the Panthers further in the Southeast Division race. Florida and Tampa Bay have each split the first two of eight total games this season. The Panthers are 7-1-1 against the Lightning in the past 10 meetings at the BankAtlantic Center.
Following the Tampa Bay game, as part of "Kids Month", Panthers C Stephen Weiss, D Joel Kwiatkowski and D Bryan Allen will sign autographs for all children (12 and under) in attendance.
Friday's matchup against the Senators will be the Cats fourth game against a Canadian team this season. Florida is 2-0-1 in those three previous games. Friday will be the fifth time Cats General Manager and head coach Jacques Martin will face his former club. Last season, Martin and the Panthers were 2-2 in the four meetings between the two clubs.
As always, each Panthers home game will feature the Panthers Ice Dancers by Sziro Jewelry, and the famous Stanley C. Panther. Tickets are still available and can be purchased by calling 954-835-PUCK or online at www.floridapanthers.com.
