5 THINGS EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT TONIGHT'S GAME:


5. The Panthers begin a five game road trip tonight in Ottawa. After tonight, the Panthers travel to Edmonton (Dec. 11). Calgary (Dec. 12), Vancouver (Dec. 14) and Carolina (Dec. 18). Early in November, the Panthers played five consecutive games on the road (Nov. 1-Nov.9), going 1-3-1 on the trip. The Panthers will not play in South Florida again until Dec. 21 when they host the Colorado Avalanche. The Cats have won their last two road contests earning a 4-0 win over the NY Rangers on Nov. 30 and a 5-3 win over Washington on Dec. 2.

4. G Craig Anderson is 3-1-2 in his last six games played and ranks among NHL league leaders (as of 12/7) with a .943 save percentage (1st) and a 2.03 GAA (5th). Since Jan. 3, 2008, Anderson has posted a 14-4-3 mark in games that he has started.

3. Tonight marks the third of four meetings between Ottawa and Florida this season. Th clubs have split the previous two meetings with the Panthers posting a 3-1 win over the Senators in Ottawa on Oct. 22, behind 41 saves from G Craig Anderson. On Oct. 30 in South Florida, Ottawa handed the Cats a 2-1 setback. After tonight the two teams will not play one another again until Mar. 31 when Ottawa visits South Florida.

2. D Jay Bouwmeester ranks second in the NHL averaging 27:42 of ice time per game (as of 12/7) and has recorded 12 points (3-9-12) in his last 12 games played. He had a five game point scoring (3-4-7) streak snapped on Saturday, Dec. 6 against Boston.

1. The line combination of C Gregory Campbell (4-3-7), LW Ville Peltonen (3-3-6) and RW Radek Dvorak (2-6-8) has accounted for nine goals and 12 assists in their last seven games played.
