The Cats currently sit in sixth place in the Eastern Conference with 74 points. After 65 games, Florida (33-24-8) owns their best record since 1999-2000 (35-21-4-5), the last time that the Panthers qualified for the post season.

4. D Jay Bouwmeester ranks third in the NHL averaging 26:57 of ice time per game and ranks 20th among NHL league leaders with 34 points (13-21-34). He also holds the NHL’s active consecutive games played streak at 324 games played, dating back to the 2003-04 season. Additionally, with his 50th goal of his NHL career on Thursday, Feb. 5, Bouwmeester became just the second Panthers defenseman to record 50 tallies while playing for the Cats, joining Robert Svehla (61).

3. The Panthers and the St. Louis Blues meet tonight for the first time in South Florida since Jan. 12, 2006, when the Cats defeated the Blues 3-1.

2. C Michael Frolik ranks fifth among NHL rookie scoring leaders with 33 points (17-16-33). In addition, Frolik places third in rookie goal scoring (17) and fourth among rookie leaders in shots on goal (119). He recorded the second two goal performance of his NHL career on Tuesday, Mar. 3 at Atlanta, in a 4-3 win over the Thrashers and his first three point effort (1-2-3) of his NHL career on Tuesday, Jan. 27 in the Panthers 3-2 victory over Philadelphia.

1. G Tomas Vokoun is expected to play in his 500th NHL game tonight against the St. Louis Blues. He becomes the 53rd goalie to accomplish this feat and just the seventh active goalie to reach the 500 games played milestone, joining Martin Brodeur (978), Curtis Joseph (934), Olaf Kolzig (719), Chris Osgood (695), Nikolai Khabibulin (665) and Roberto Luongo (522). The National Hockey League recognizes a goaltender’s 500th game as a major milestone achievement, as it does for a skater’s 1,000th game played. Vokoun will be honored with a special pre-game presentation prior to the game on Saturday, Mar. 14 when Florida hosts Tampa Bay.
