Considered by many as a complete defenseman that can play in all three ends, Brandon Gormley had an exceptional post season for the QMJHL champions. He finished with the third most points (2-15-17) among defensemen. That followed up to his regular season in which he posted 43 points (9-34-43) in 58 games for Moncton.

Gormley was the first player taken in the 2008 QMJHL draft.

NHL Central Scouting's Chris Bordeleau: “He is what a lot of teams are going for, he's a good defenseman who can score and handle the puck, smart. Gormley has got the whole package. He's got a good shot from the point, an accurate shot, low and can be deflected.”

Gormley On Gormley's Game: "It's pretty simple. It's not too flashy. I'm not going to wow everyone. Just keep everything simple and use smart plays and use my speed to avoid the forecheckers and get the puck up to the forwards as quick as possible."

Gormley, Moncton Both Winners In QMJHL Final
(5.12.10) Moncton Wildcats defenseman Brandon Gormley is enjoying the extra time in the spotlight.

After helping his team win the QMJHL title Monday and earn a berth in the Memorial Cup, even more attention will be coming Gormley's way as he continues to make his case to be a top pick at the 2010 Entry Draft, June 25-26 in Los Angeles.

Gormley Hasn't Made Many Bad Trips In His Hockey Life
(2.23.10) Long road trips don't really seem to bother Brandon Gormley. Not after where he's gone.

And his next big one, to Los Angeles in June for the 2010 Entry Draft, likely will be as successful as most of the other ones he's taken.

Gormley, the highly regarded Moncton Wildcats defenseman, is the top-rated QMJHL player (No. 8 overall) in NHL Central Scouting's midterm ranking of North American skaters for the draft.
