2008 NHL Draft: Colten Teubert

Leading up to the 2008 draft, will be highlighting some of the top prospects to look out for. Could the Panthers draft one of these players with their pick in the second round or might they move up to grab one of these top players to further bolster their system and hope they contribute to the big club one day?

First overall selection in 2005 Bantam Draft. Had 26 goals, 26 assists and 166 penalty minutes in 65 games in 2004-05 with Bantam AAA team. Third in Regina in defensive scoring last year with 23 points (7 goals). Represented Canada at 2008 IIHF Under-18 World Championships, was a member of Team Canada at Under-18 Ivan Hlinka Memorial in 2007. Lists former NHL Ray Ferrao as favorite minor coach.


Smooth skating defenseman who can take charge of the game. Can skate the puck out of trouble or jump on the ice with the puck. Projects initially as a support third or fourth defenseman in the NHL with good offensive upside who won’t hurt you defensively.


Solid skater who plays with an edge and uses his size well.
