Tencer & Stauffer talk about Jagr, coaching

by staff / Edmonton Oilers
Former NY Rangers head coach Tom Renney with Jaromir Jagr.

On Thursday from the IIHF World Championships, Jaromir Jagr commented that if he returned to the NHL, the Oilers would be his first choice.

"If I ever go to (the NHL), they would be my number one pick because they showed the interest first. I never forget that and I respect that. They would be my first pick."

Thursday night on Inside Sports on 630 CHED during the 8:00 hour, host Dan Tencer had Bob Stauffer in studio to discuss several hot Oilers topics. Among them was Jaromir Jagr's comments and the possibility he might return to the NHL one day - and whether if he did would that team be the Oilers.

Thursday's Audio on Jaromir Jagr:
Tencer and Stauffer also talked about potential Oilers coaching candidates. The three names that were discussed more at length were Tom Renney, Pat Quinn and Marc Crawford.

Renney also dropped in for an interview with Dan.

It's been a busy past few days for Inside Sports as Tencer also caught up with Oilers GM Steve Tambellini and defenceman Tom Gilbert earlier in the week. You can still listen to those archives below.
