Sadly, we’ve reached the end of the 2015-16 season, but what a week it was with an unforgettable farewell to Rexall Place, as Oilers fans celebrated the team’s history in the arena while players past and present united for the festivities. We also featured another Oilers pet to raise funds for the Edmonton Humane Society, and our Sport Chek NHL Draft contest continues!
On the first Monday of every month, we’ve partnered with the preferred builder of the Oilers, Coventry Homes, to showcase our fans’ pets and raise funds for the Edmonton Humane Society. For every like, comment or share the featured photo gets on Facebook, and for every retweet and like it receives on Twitter, Coventry Homes will donate $1 to support EHS! Dallas Todd’s cute little guy named Nuge helped us get closer to our goal of $25,000 this week. Want your pet to be featured next month? Tweet your photo to @edmontonoilers

GIFS OF THE WEEK
There were so many memorable, GIF-able moments from Wednesday’s #FarewellRexallPlace
festivities, but here are a few of the best! Walter Gretzky got a massive ovation from the Rexall faithful as The Great One’s dad presented a long-time season-seat holder with a jersey signed by Wayne. And speaking of 99, he and Mark Messier enjoyed some quality time with Oilers rookie Connor McDavid after the game. Lastly, all the current and former players in attendance gave the fans one final stick salute.
