Snickers Plays of the Year - Round 1, Game A

Game B >>

Each week during this past season, reviewed all the top goals and saves and put the vote to you the fans for the top play for the week. Those plays are back as the top 32 plays face off in head-to-head competition until a winner is ultimately determined. We will regularly put two plays up against one another and it's up to you to decide which one will advance on to the next round.

VOTING IS NOW CLOSED: Eberle (94%) def. Khabibulin (6%)

Eberle's First Career NHL Goal

After electing to keep on a two-on-one with captain Shawn Horcoff, Eberle dangles around a sprawling Ian White and stunned Miikka Kiprusoff to bring the Rexall Place crowd into a frenzy and put his team up 2-0 in the season-opener.

Khabibulin's Glove Tip Wonder

After the Red Wings re-gained the one-goal advantage, Detroit kept pressuring as they looked to extend the lead. A scramble in front of Khabibulin's crease resulted in a five-star opportunity that Edmonton's netminder literally snatched away.

A desperation effort with his glove tipped a puck that was headed toward the back of the net, keeping the game well within reach.
