PRESS RELEASE: Oilers acquire Lundstrom and a draft pick

The Edmonton Oilers have acquired goaltender Niklas Lundstrom and a 2016 fifth round draft pick from the St. Louis Blues, in exchange for goaltender Anders Nilsson.

Lundstrom, 23, has appeared in 13 games with the ECHL’s Elmira Jackals this season, accumulating an 8-3-0 record, a 2.92 goals against average and a .929 save percentage, as well as one shutout.

The 6’2”, 200-pound netminder has also appeared in four games for the American Hockey League’s Chicago Wolves, posting a 2.75 goals against average and a .901 save percentage.

The Varmdo, Sweden native has represented his country several times internationally, including the 2013 World Junior Hockey Championship, appearing in four games posting a 1.60 goals against average and a .944 save percentage.
