The Edmonton Oilers announced today they have acquired centre Rob Klinkhammer and a first round draft selection in the 2015 NHL draft from the Pittsburgh Penguins, in exchange for winger David Perron.
Klinkhammer, 28, has spent time with the Arizona Coyotes and Pittsburgh Penguins this season, registering six points (4G, 2A) and four penalty minutes in 29 games.
The 6'3", 214-pound centre, has posted 39 points (20G, 19A) and 35 penalty minutes in 139 career NHL games.
The Lethbridge, Alberta native has also spent six seasons in the American Hockey League, accumulating 212 points (82G, 130A) and 246 penalty minutes in 396 career AHL games. He also played in 31 AHL playoff games, recording 13 points (5G, 8A) and 39 penalty minutes.
