The Edmonton Oilers have signed defenceman Theo Peckham
to a three-year entry level contract.
The 6'2", 223-pound native of Richmond Hill, Ontario was the Oilers second choice (3rd round), 75th overall, in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.
Peckham enjoyed his most productive season with the Ontario Hockey League’s Owen Sound Attack in 2006-07, scoring a single-season career-high 35 points in 53 games. The 19-year-old defenceman established career-highs in both goals and assists with 10 goals and 25 assists, while registering 173 penalty minutes.

Nine of his 10 goals came on special teams as Peckham was fifth on the Attack with seven powerplay goals and added two shorthanded tallies. He also scored one assist in four playoff games as Owen Sound was eliminated in the first round of the OHL playoffs by the London Knights.
In three seasons with Owen Sound between 2004-05 and 2006-07, Peckham scored 17-43-60 in 181 career OHL games with 618 penalty minutes. Twice he registered 200-or-more penalty minutes in a season, including a career-high 236 in 2005-06. He added 1-7-8 with 40 penalty minutes in 23 career OHL playoff games.
