Oilers sign Brad Moran

Moran, 31, played the last two seasons with Skelleftea HC in the Swedish Elite League. Last year the 5’11”, 187 lbs centre scored 40 points (14G, 26A) in 55 games.
The Abbotsford, British Columbia native was originally drafted by the Buffalo Sabres in the 7th round, 191st overall in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft. He has played in eight career NHL games, five with the Columbus Blue Jackets and three with the Vancouver Canucks, scoring a goal and adding two assists. Moran has also appeared in 477 AHL games with the Syracuse Crunch and Manitoba Moose, where he scored 145 goals and 245 assists for 390 points.
Moran played five full years of junior with the Western Hockey League’s Calgary Hitmen. In 357 games he collected 450 points (204G, 246A) including a 60-goal season in 1998-99. The following season he captured the Bob Clarke Trophy as the league’s top scorer with 120 points. Moran has set Calgary Hitmen franchise records for career games played, goals, assists and points.
