The Oilers Rookies killed a 5-on-3 penalty towards the end of the third period and freed themselves up for a man advantage of their own.
The team failed to capitalize but their efforts were something to be proud of in the locker room.
“It was unfortunate,” said Oilers forward Kyle Platzer. “That was a great opportunity to tie that game. But, it also showed a lot of character, killing off that five-on-three. It was pretty special and all the boys pulled together and we were behind everyone. We supported each other. It was good to see that we came together as a group.”
Killing a 5-on-3 without practicing systems was a step in the right direction for the Oilers young prospects.
