Oilers Recall Two; Place Brule on Re-Entry Waivers

General Manager Steve Tambellini announced today the Edmonton Oilers have recalled forwards Magnus Paajarvi and Ryan O’Marra from the Oklahoma City Barons of the American Hockey League and placed forward Gilbert Brule on re-entry waivers.

Paajarvi, 20, was assigned to Oklahoma City on December 16 and has a goal and eight assists in nine games with the Barons. In 25 games with the Oilers this season he had three assists.
The 6’2’, 204-pound Norrkoping, Sweden native was selected by Edmonton in the 1st round, 10th overall at the 2009 NHL Entry Draft and played in 80 games last year collecting 34 points (15G, 19A).
O’Marra, 24, has played 34 games this season with the Barons scoring seven goals and adding nine assists for 16 points. He also has appeared in three games with the Oilers collecting one assist.
The 6’2”, 220-pound centre has seven career NHL points (1G, 6A) in 27 games with Edmonton.

Brule, 25, has played 27 games with the Barons this season recording 18 points (8G, 10A). Brule has 81 career NHL points (38G, 43A) in 263 games with the Oilers and the Columbus Blue Jackets.
The 5"11", 174-pound Edmonton, Alberta native was originally drafted in the 1st round, 6th overall, in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft by Columbus. He was obtained by Edmonton in exchange for Raffi Torres on July 1, 2008.
