General Manager Steve Tambellini announced today the Edmonton Oilers have recalled left-winger Teemu Hartikainen
from the Oklahoma City Barons of the American Hockey League.
Hartikainen, 21, has played 23 games this season with the Barons recording 15 points (8G, 7A). In 89 career AHL games, the Kuopio, Finland native has 57 points (25G, 32A).
The 6'1", 215-pound winger has five points (3G, 2A) in 12 career NHL games with the Oilers. Hartikainen was selected by Edmonton in the 6th round, 163rd overall in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
The Oilers also assigned centre Lennart Petrell
to Oklahoma City today.
Petrell, 27, has appeared in 30 games this year with the Oilers scoring three goals and adding three assists with 38 PIM.
The 6'3", 198-pound Helsinki, Finland native was signed as a free agent this summer by Edmonton after spending the previous eight years with HIFK Helsinki of the Finnish Elite League.Edmonton Oilers hockey is presented in part by the Rexall Family of Pharmacies, Molson Canadian, ATB Financial, TELUS, Cenovus Energy and Ford.
