The Edmonton Oilers announced today, they have named Jordan Eberle and Taylor Hall alternate captains for the 2014-15 season.
Eberle, 24, enters his fifth season with the Oilers where he has played in 275 career NHL games, recording 221 points (96G, 125A).
The Regina, Saskatchewan native tied for the Oilers team lead in goals (28), power play points (20) and game winning goals (4) in 2013-14. He also ranked second on the team in points (65), assists (37) and power play goals (7).
Hall, 22, is heading into his fifth season with the Oilers and has accumulated 225 points (92G, 133A) in 246 career NHL games.
Last season Hall set a career high in games played (75) and tied a career high in goals (27). He also led the Oilers in points (80) and assists (53), his 53 assists ranked first among left wingers in the western conference and eighth in the NHL. Hall also ranked seventh in the NHL in scoring, marking the second straight season he has finished in the top ten in the league in scoring.
Eberle and Hall will wear the “A’s” for the Oilers on a full time basis alongside Captain Andrew Ference.
