Edmonton Oilers Hockey School presented by EnCana is underway and will be operating for four weeks from July 20th to August 16th at Servus Credit Union Place in St. Albert. Springfield Falcons (AHL) players as well as Edmonton Oil Kings (WHL) players are amongst the instructors, with visits from Edmonton Oilers players, coaches and staff. Among the Oilers players attending camp, recently acquired forward Erik Cole will be making his first public appearance at the hockey school.
The school is run in conjunction with Okanagan Hockey School and gives students the opportunity to experience NHL calibre training while further developing their minor hockey game. Each week-long session is open to young hockey players, both male and female, between the ages of 8-16, and features comprehensive on-ice sessions, the newest off-ice training techniques, core strength exercises, and seminars ranging from motivation to nutrition. With both on-ice and dry land sessions, students will learn what it takes to be a pro, while also having fun. Plus, a few special guests will drop by the rink during the week, including Oilers players and coaches.
Some of the players already confirmed to participate at Oilers Hockey School include Springfield Falcons Adam Huxley, Glenn Fisher, Theo Peckham
, Geoff Paukovich, Sebastien Bisaillon, Bryan Pitton, Jordan Bendfeld, Les Reaney and David Rohlfs along with Edmonton Oil Kings players Dalyn Flette, Mark Pysyk, Brent Henke and Drew Nichol.
