Oilers assign Jacques and Roy to Hamilton

The Edmonton Oilers have assigned left wing Jean-Francois Jacques and defenceman Mathieu Roy to the Hamilton Bulldogs of the American Hockey League.

Both Jacques and Roy return to Edmonton's AHL affiliate after making their NHL debuts with the Oilers in February.

Jacques, the Oilers' third choice (second round, 68th overall) in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, was recalled from Hamilton on January 31st and made his NHL debut on February 2nd versus the Columbus Blue Jackets. He was scoreless in six games during his first stint with the Oilers.

    Roy was recalled from Hamilton on February 11th and made his NHL debut on Sunday, February 12th in the Oilers 5-4 shootout loss versus the St. Louis Blues. In his first NHL game, Roy played 13 minutes and was scoreless and -1 with two blocked shots.
