Oilers agree to terms with Dubnyk & Petry on 2-year deals

General Manager Steve Tambellini announced today the Edmonton Oilers have agreed to terms with goaltender Devan Dubnyk and defenceman Jeff Petry on two-year contracts.

The 6’5”, 210 lbs goalie had 47 appearances and a 20-20-3 record with a 2.67 goals-against average and .914 save percentage. The 20 wins and 2.67 GAA were both career bests.
Dubnyk, who was born in Regina, Saskatchewan, played five seasons with the Kamloops Blazers in the Western Hockey League playing in 192 games with an 83-87-14 record including 15 shutouts. He was also a member of the gold-medal-winning Canadian team in the 2006 IIHF World Junior Championship. Dubnyk was Edmonton’s 1st round choice, 14th overall in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
Petry, 24, played in 73 games last season with the Oilers recording 25 points (2G, 23A). He ranked first on the team in scoring for defencemen, reaching career highs in goals, assists, points and games played.
The 6’3”, 196-pound native of Ann Arbor, Michigan has appeared in 108 career National Hockey League games. He has 30 points (3G, 27A) and 36 PIM.
Petry played three seasons with Michigan Stage of the CCHA, playing 118 games with 9 goals, 58 assists and 67 points. Petry was Edmonton's first pick, 45th overall, in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.
Devan Dubnyk's contract is 2 years AAV $3.5 million while Jeff Petry's deal is 2 years AAV $1.75 million
