Edmonton is currently tied with the Prince Albert Raiders for the 8th and final playoff spot in the Western Hockey League's Eastern Conference. The Raiders have played all of their 72 regular season games so Edmonton has control of their own destiny.
The Oil Kings have already broken their franchise attendance record three times this season and could make it 4 with one of the largest crowds of the season expected for the thrilling finish to the 2009 WHL regular season. Today's game is also Fan Appreciation Day and the Oil Kings will be wearing a special jersey thanking Sherwood Park Minor Hockey for purchasing the most group seats at Oil Kings games this season. As well, Edmonton Oilers forward Marc Pouliot, will be signing autographs before the game.
Tickets for the game are available online at oilkings.ca and at all Ticketmaster outlets. Parking for the game is free when presenting a game ticket upon entry to the Northlands lot south of 118 Ave or the Mount Lawn parking lot. (Entrance located 120th Avenue & 74th Street)
