FIRST PERIOD

20:00: Tonight's game is now underway.

18:01: Less than two minutes into the game, Leon Draisiatl received a hooking penalty, giving the game's first power play to the Lightning.

14:51: The Oilers kill that one off, but a too many men penalty sends them back to the PK not too long after.

9:58: It took the Oilers half a period to register a shot on goal but when they did, it was two dangerous chances in front. Ben Bishop had to be sharp to cover the puck. Shots were 4-2 Tampa Bay 10 minutes in.

4:40: Oilers struck for the game's first goal. Justin Schultz backhanded the puck on net and then pinched in to grab his own rebound, pushing it past Bishop for the opener. | EDM 1, TB 0

3:30: On a two-on-one rush, Draisaitl tries to dish the puck over to Taylor Hall but loses control of the puck moments before the pass.

7.9: Draisaitl had a wide-open net and Victor Hedman somehow, some way managed to get his glove on the shot while sprawled out across the crease, keeping it a 1-0 game. 0.0: Shots on goal after one period were 9-5 for Tampa Bay.

SECOND PERIOD

20:00: Period two has started.

17:08: Nikita Kucherov takes a penalty for the Lightning, giving Edmonton its first power play of the night.

16:22: Edmonton doubles its lead when Benoit Pouliot tipped a laser shot from the top of the right circle by Ryan Nugent-Hopkins only 46 seconds into the man advantage. The shot went top corner glove side on Bishop. | EDM 2, TB 0

14:35: The Oilers go right back to the power play after Vladislav Namestnikov hauled down Jordan Eberle on a great scoring chance in the slot.

8:18: Shots are now even in the game at 13-13.

54.3: Tampa Bay's Nikita Nesterov takes an interference penalty in the Bolts zone, sending Edmonton to a late second-period power play.

0.0: The period ends with Edmonton outshooting Tampa Bay 14-8. Overall in the game, the Oilers hold a 19-17 edge in shots.

THIRD PERIOD

20:00: The third period begins with Edmonton still having 1:05 to go in their man advantage.

17:23: Tampa Bay very nearly scored their first of the game as a shot by Ondrej Palat rang off the post behind Talbot but the Oilers goaltender managed to lay down on the puck in the crease before it could get in harm's way.

14:49: The Oilers, now only up by a goal, had to kill a penalty following a holding penalty by Brandon Davidson as Tampa Bay looked to get the equalizer.

7:54: Oilers withstand a surge from the Lightning. Game is still a one-goal affair but shots are now 23-22 for the Oilers.

5:10: A centring pass by Victor Hedman goes in off the stick of Hall as he raced back to try and break up a two-on-one. | EDM 2, TB 2



4:28: At the TV timeout, shots are 25-24 for Edmonton.

4:09: A goal by Stamkos off the skate of Darnell Nurse puts Tampa Bay in the lead. | TB 3, EDM 2

1:01: Oilers pull Cam Talbot in search of the equalizer.
