20:00: The game is now underway.

18:02: Calgary takes an early lead when a shot on goal by T.J. Brodie is tipped in front by Brandon Bollig. | CGY 1, EDM 0

16:45: The teams mix it up behind the net after Talbot makes a couple of nice stops during a scramble in front of the Edmonton net. Result is penalties to Nail Yakupov and Johnny Gaudreau for roughing.

10:18: Shots on goal are 9-4 for Calgary near the midway point of the first.

8:26: Cam Talbot went to play the puck behind his net and lost it to Matt Stajan, who quickly fed it to Michael Frolik for an easy tap-in and 2-0 Flames lead. | CGY 2, EDM 0

6:45: Oilers get that goal back less than two minutes later. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins takes a one-timer from the top of the left circle that is tipped by Taylor Hall on its way to the net and beats Flames netminder Karri Ramo shortside. Leon Draisaitl gets the other assist. | CGY 2, EDM 1

3:06: Shots are now 11-6 Calgary.

2:33: Flames move in front by two goals once again. Frolik redirects a shot off his skate following a shot from the left point by Kris Russell. The goal is reviewed to see if Frolik kicked it in and after a quick review it's ruled to be a good goal. | CGY 3, EDM 1

The first power play of the game goes to Edmonton after Mikael Backlund holds up Nugent-Hopkins.

0.0: The Oilers have a ton of very good chances on the power play, particularly Yakupov buzzing around the Calgary net but can't convert. Shots on goal are 12-8 Flames after 20.

20:00: Period two is now underway.

17:03: Josh Jooris tripped up Anton Slepyshev in the neutral zone, sending Edmonton on the power play for the second time on the night.

15:48: During a scramble in front of the net, Benoit Pouliot backhanded a loose puck in past Ramo and looked to make it a 3-2 game. Calgary used its coaches challenge to determine if there was goaltender interference on the play and it was ruled that indeed Mark Letestu had brushed Ramo in front of the crease. Shots are even at 13-13. 10:56: Mark Giordano received two minutes for hooking Lander, sending the Oilers to their third power play of the night.

9:22: Brandon Davidson absolutely ripped a one-timer in the high slot to finally actually bring the Oilers back within a goal late on the power play. | CGY 3, EDM 2

9:04: Flames now have a slight edge in shots at 17-16.

5:21: Calgary goes on the power play for the first time in the game after Eric Gryba gets sent off for two minutes.

3:30: With nine seconds left in the penalty, T.J. Brodie wires a shot from the right circle top corner on Talbot. | CGY 4, EDM 2

48.1: Giordano takes his second penalty of the game, this time for holding, to send the Oilers back on the PP.

0.0: Shots after two periods were 22-19 for Calgary.

20:00: Period three begins with Edmonton on the power play for 1:11.

19:12: Oilers convert 48 seconds into the PP as Ryan Nugent-Hopkins' shot is deflected, fortunately right on the stick of Teddy Purcell who deposits the puck into the open net to draw Oilers within one once again. | CGY 4, EDM 3

19:04: McDavid receives two minutes for hooking, sending the Flames on the power play for a second time.

17:04: Oilers kill off the penalty. Shots are 23-20 for Calgary.

13:45: Flames look to have regained their two-goal lead but it's ruled that David Jones made contact with Talbot before the puck entered the net. No goal. Flames use their coach's challenge to confirm that was the case. The call on the ice stood and Calgary was charged with a 30-second timeout.

13:20: Hall feeds Draisaitl in the slot and Draisaitl makes no mistake, one-timing the puck in past Ramo and tying the game up. | EDM 4, CGY 4

5:52: Shots are 29-23 for the Flames.

3:07: Benoit Pouliot receives a penalty for tripping, giving the Flames a late-game opportunity to tie the game on the power play.

1:07: Oilers kill off the penalty.

8.7: Michael Frolik scores on a desperate shot from the corner that somehow finds its way between the legs of Talbot.

8.7: Oilers call a 30-second timeout.

0.0: Game over. Final shot count 32-23 for Calgary.
