14:00: Nail Yakupov has an impressive rush where he goes around several Canucks and creates the best scoring chance of the game so far. 12:49: Just over seven minutes into the game, shots on goal are 2-1 for Edmonton.

7:43: Shots are 6-2 Oilers after an effective but unsuccessful power play.

3:14: After an offensive charge from Vancouver, shots are now 7-6 Oilers.

1:10: Zack Kassian takes two for slashing against his former team, putting the Canucks on the power play for the first time on the night.

2:20: There's a lot of pushing and shoving behind the Oilers net as tempers flare with time winding down. Canucks pull their goaltender for the extra attacker looking for the equalizer.
