FIRST PERIOD

20:00: Tonight's game is now underway.

17:27: Only 2:33 into the game, Leon Draisaitl took a penalty for slashing to give St. Louis the game's first power play.

13:46: Oilers kill off the penalty. Shots are 3-0 Blues so far.

13:02: McDavid got in behind the Blues defence but was denied by Jake Allen in-close.

12:53: Blues take their first penalty of the game. Magnus Paajarvi gets two for goaltender interference to give the Oilers their first man advantage.

12:00: Patrick Maroon pounced on a rebound in the slot after Nail Yakupov's shot from the right circle was kicked out by Allen. He dished it to Nugent-Hopkins for the goal. | EDM 1, STL 0

11:44: Draisaitl takes another penalty, this time for holding the stick. Blues go back on the PP.

8:50: Shots now 6-3 Blues.

6:28: Iiro Pakarinen spun and backhanded the puck on net. Allen made the save but Taylor Hall was in a great position to grab the rebound. He lifted it over Allen to double the Oilers lead. | EDM 2, STL 0

5:43: St. Louis got that goal back when a screened shot by David Backes beat Talbot top corner only 45 seconds later. | EDM 2, STL 1

4:19: Shots on goal are now 7-6 for St. Louis.

0.0: After one period, shots were 8-8.

FIRST PERIOD HIGHLIGHTS

SECOND PERIOD

20:00: Period two starts now.

17:05: Blues have the only two shots in the second period so far.

16:38: Zack Kassian accidentally took out referee Dave Jackson in the corner of the Oilers end. Jackson was shaken up on the play and had to be tended to by a team doctor and trainer. Jackson stayed in the game, however.

14:00: A blast from the point by Joel Edmundson was redirected on its way to the net by Draisaitl and then again in front by Jaden Schwartz, drawing the Blues even. | EDM 2, STL 2

13:43: A penalty to Kyle Brodziak puts the Oilers on the man advantage with a chance to regain the lead.

12:18: Sekera's shot was redirected and stopped by Allen in front. He then stopped Letestu's rebound but the Oilers centre backhanded the second rebound in. | EDM 3, STL 2

10:56: Fabbri took a tripping penalty, sending the Oilers back on the man advantage.

6:23: Patrick Maroon's stick was grabbed by Schwartz, sending him to the box and Oilers back on the power play.

5:32: Oilers power play looked to have struck yet again. This time, it was Draisaitl in front of the net who scooped up a rebound and put it out of the reach of Allen. St. Louis challenged the play, saying it was offside and they won the challenge.

4:54: Oilers simply do it again. Draisiatl redirects a feed from McDavid to score, negating the coaches challenge by St. Louis. | EDM 4, STL 2

3:56: Shots on goal are now 19-13 for Edmonton.

2:27: The red hot Oilers power play goes back to work after David Backes gets two for slashing.

1:51: And once again, the Oilers struck for a fourth (fifth??) power play goal of the game. Nugent-Hopkins wristed a shot from the left circle that beat a screened Allen and extended their lead to three goals | EDM 5, STL 2

17.5: Pakarinen's interference penalty gives the Blues a chance to inch a little closer.

0.0: Period two comes to an end. Shots are 22-15 for Edmonton (14-7 in the period).

SECOND PERIOD HIGHLIGHTS

THIRD PERIOD

20:00: The third period is now underway with 1:42 still left in the Pakarinen penalty.

19:02: Blues strike on the power play as Patrik Berglund hammers home a rebound in front to narrow the gap to two goals. | EDM 5, STL 3

16:00: Blues pushing hard to get back in the game, outshooting the Oilers 5-0 early on in the third.

14:12: St. Louis scored again to make it a one-goal deficit. David Backes one-timed a blast from the left side past Talbot. | EDM 5, STL 4

10:12: Jori Lehtera took a holding penalty and after the whistle, Maroon got two for roughing to negate the Oilers power play.

9:31: Shots in the game are now completely even at 24-24.

5:56: Hendricks gets hit heavily into the boards and Troy Brouwer goes to the box for boarding. Hendricks is shaken up on the play and it was a five-minute major.

3:34: Talbot makes a big shorthanded stop on Lehtera to keep the Oilers in front.

16.3: With the Blues net empty, Letestu skipped a shot into the empty net to clinch this one.
