Oilers Injury Report >>

20:00: The game has started.

17:14: Fists fly early as Zack Kassian battles Cody McLeod. Kassian lands some heavy shots but isn't able to knock McLeod off his feet.

14:18: Shots just past the five-minute mark are 5-2 for Colorado.

12:46: Oilers got on the board first when Taylor Hall jumped on a Leon Draisaitl rebound to put it into the net high glove side on Avalanche starting goaltender Calvin Pickard. | EDM 1, COL 0

8:41: Colorado got that goal back four minutes later. John Mitchell was stationed at the top of the crease and took the puck and put it into the open cage. | EDM 1, COL 1

5:36: Shots on goal now 10-8 for the Avs.

0.0: After one period, Colorado had a 12-8 lead in shots.

20:00: Period two starts now.

18:37: Tyson Barrie stood in front of the net and tapped the puck in past Talbot to give Colorado the lead. | COL 2, EDM 1

12:29: Shots almost eight minutes into the middle frame are 16-13 for Colorado.

12:02: McDavid skated it on a two-on-one with Pouliot but the pass across hopped over McDavid's stick. However, some strong forechecking resulted in a high-sticking penalty to Matt Duchene in the corner of the Avs end and Edmonton's first power play of the night.

7:12: Edmonton went back on the PP after Andrew Bodnarchuk tripped up Nail Yakupov in the corner of the Avs zone.

4:30: Avalanche kill off that penalty as well. Shots now 19-17 for Colorado.

4:09: Mark Fayne takes a tripping penalty and now it's Colorado's turn to go on the power play.

3:27: Nurse takes a holding penalty and now the Oilers are down two men for the next 1:18 (or less).

3:09: The puck was blindly backhanded into the slot right to a dangerous Jarome Iginla. His shot was stopped by Talbot, however.

2:56: Barrie rang a shot off the post and out of the rink.

1:01: Oilers kill off the two-man advantage.

9.6: Nick Holden got two minutes for holding, giving the Oilers a chance to tie the game with a power play that will likely carry over to period three.

0.0: Shot count after 40: 25-17 for Colorado.

20:00: Third period starts now. Oilers have 1:50 remaining on the man advantage to start things off.

16:11: Barrie's shot from the high slot gets past a screened Talbot to double the Avalanche lead. | COL 3, EDM 1

9:28: Shots are 28-22 Colorado as the third period passes the midway point.

8:46: Oilers looked to have scored on a goal by Teddy Purcell but Hall ran interference on Pickard and instead Edmonton had to kill a two-minute penalty. Oilers called a coach's challenge.

4:57: Oilers kill that one off and head back on the attack, trying to get back in the game. Shots now 29-23.

1:41: Oilers get back within a goal as Pouliot fires the puck in after a nice feed from Eberle. | COL 3, EDM 2

1:41: Talbot heads to the bench for the extra attacker.

21.3: Colorado's attempt at the empty net misses the mark. Call is icing.

0.0: Final shot count is 29-27 for the Avs.
