J.J. Hunter assigned to Hamilton

The Edmonton Oilers have activated centre J.J. Hunter from the NHL Injured Reserve List and assigned him to the Hamilton Bulldogs of the American Hockey League.

    The 61", 185-pound native of Shaunavon, Saskatchewan had been placed on the injured list after suffering a dislocated right shoulder during the pre-season. He underwent surgery on the shoulder on October 17th and has been in Edmonton undergoing rehabilitation with the Oilers medical staff since then.

    Hunter previously injured the shoulder during the 2004-05 season while with the Edmonton Road Runners of the AHL. Despite the injury, he scored 13-11-24 in 64 games for the Road Runners.

    In 123 career AHL games, the 25-year-old forward has scored 25-27-52 with 106 penalty minutes.
