FIRST PERIOD

14:55: Neither team has a shot on goal five minutes into the game.

14:13: The Devils get on the board first. From the slot, Martin Havlat dished the puck over to Patrik Elias at the right circle. He made no mistake, quickly snapping it just inside the post behind Oilers starting goaltender Ben Scrivens. | NJ 1, EDM 0

12:00: Shots are now 2-0 Devils.

10:41: Nail Yakupov collides in the neutral zone with Steve Bernier and has to be helped off the ice, suffering from a bleeding nose. At the same time, Marek Zidlicky gets sent off for roughing Ryan Nugent-Hopkins. The result is Edmonton's first power play of the game.

5:05: Shots are 4-3 Devils with just over five minutes to play in the first.

35.7: Oilers get on even terms late in the opening frame. Oscar Klefbom wires a shot from the left circle along the ice past Devils goaltender Cory Schneider to make it 1-1. | EDM 1, NJ 1

8:30: Adam Larsson cleared the puck over the glass from his own end, resulting in another Devils penalty and Edmonton's third power play of the game.

7:15: After two missed one-timer attempts in succession, Nail Yakupov blasted a one-timer from the right circle following a great cross-ice feed from Jordan Eberle. He made no mistake the third time, rifling it past Schneider to put the Oilers in front. | EDM 2, NJ 1

16:40: Devils have the first two shots of period three.

13:22: Iiro Pakarinen is hauled down by Danius Zubrus. Zubrus gets ticketed for holding and Pakarinen for embellishment, creating a four-on-four situation.

7:24: Shots in period two are 4-3 Oilers.

3:15: Teddy Purcell was set up on a breakaway by Eberle and tried to score on the backhand but Schneider made a nice save.
