300km from the bright lights and bustling streets of Edmonton, the Oilers Octane went country Saturday night for a concert by three-time Canadian Country Music Award nominee Gord Bamford in the community of Provost, AB.

Armed with smiles, pom-poms, and a hearty dose of honky-tonk, the 11 Octane members enhanced the energetic concert atmosphere by performing and posing for photos with nearly 100 fans at a VIP reception.

"It was exciting to participate at an event like this with Gord Bamford," Octane member Kaitlyn said. "Everyone in Provost was so welcoming and interested in what Octane does. We were treated very well."

Living up to his reputation as one of the Canada's most charming and approachable country music stars, Bamford took the time to meet all of the Octane members.

"We were all so excited to meet him as many of us listen to his music," Whitney said. "He is very nice and appreciates the support from his fans. He was very excited to have a picture with the Octane team and loved that we were there!"

According to event organizer Kevin Ganser, the Octane were an energetic addition to the weekend's festivities.

"You don’t have to look far in Provost to find Oilers fans so it has really been exciting to know that the Octane were here at our arena for this concert event."
