The Edmonton Oilers kick off a short two-game road trip to Southern California tonight at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
Thursday night, the Oilers completed a thrilling 5-4 shootout win over the Minnesota Wild. Shawn Horcoff
had two goals and two assists while Ales Hemsky
had a pair of goals plus the shootout winner. The victory snapped a two-game losing skid.
As far as the Western Conference standings go, the Oilers could move into a tie for seventh place with a win tonight.
Los Angeles is already in seventh with 10 points on the season through 11 games. Following a stretch of five straight losses, the Kings have now won three straight and four of five.
