Fans will have the option to purchase blue or pink ballcaps on Saturday.
Get set to get pink! Fans attending the Saturday, October 21st, Edmonton Oilers game versus the Detroit Red Wings will have the chance to show their support for the battle against Breast Cancer with The Power of Pink.
The Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation and the Edmonton Oilers Ladies will once again be on the main concourse of Rexall Place selling ballcaps, autographed by an Oilers player, for $20 each. Last year, the hats sold out before the puck dropped, and over $18,000 was raised for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. This year, the Oilers Ladies hope to top that total.
"The Power of Pink fundraiser worked so well last season, that weve managed to get 3,000 ballcaps signed for this year," said Wendy Smith, wife of Oilers Captain Jason Smith. "With the generous support of Oilers fans, we hope to raise a substantial amount to help fight Breast Cancer."
This year, the Edmonton Oilers Ladies will be selling 2,000 blue Oilers ballcaps and 1,000 of the popular pink hats. If a fan purchases a hat autographed in gold ink, they automatically win a team-signed stick.
