The Edmonton Oilers and EPCOR will welcome Olympic Champion Adam Kreek to Rexall Place on Wednesday, January 7th when the Oilers meet the Vancouver Canucks.

As part of EPCOR’s Parade of Champions, Adam will give local hockey fans the chance to see his Olympic Medal, won at the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics as a member of the Canadian Men’s Heavy Eights Rowing Team. Adam will also sign autographs for fans during the second intermission.

“A commitment to the pursuit of excellence is something that Canada’s amateur athletes and EPCOR both have in common,” said Denise Carpenter, Senior Vice President of Public and Government Affairs for EPCOR.  “Adam Kreek is a living, breathing and singing example of the dedication and commitment required to be the best.  EPCOR is proud to support the Parade of Champions and offer local athletes an opportunity to meet Adam and hear his story of perseverance and success.”

Competing internationally, Adam has won dozens of medals besides his Olympic Gold, including the first Men’s Eight World Championship title, the first Grand Challenge Cup and the first World Cup ever for Canadian rowing.  He has now been crowned a World Champion three times at the senior level.

Adam’s list of achievements is as long as is it impressive.  He and his team have solidified Canada as one of the world’s premiere rowing programs.

Limited tickets are still available for the January 7th game against the Vancouver Canucks at all Ticketmaster outlets, online at, or by calling 780-414-GOAL.
