Edmonton, AB – The Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation (EOCF) is proud to announce its 2009 Christmas Funding totaling over $75,000. This year alone, the EOCF has donated $1.5 million to charities across Northern Alberta who focus their activities on youth, education, health and wellness.
“For the eighth year running, the EOCF is proud to announce our Christmas funding in support of charities who are helping to improve communities across Oil Country,” said Natalie Minckler, EOCF’s Executive Director. “We sincerely thank our fans and supporters who’ve given so generously this year enabling us to make these donations.”
The following 13 charitable organizations across Northern Alberta will benefit from this funding:

- Canadian Association for Disabled Skiing (CADS)

- Heart of the City Piano Program
- Kids In The Hall Bistro
- Linking Generations
- Edmonton Meals on Wheels
- Mustard Seed (Edmonton)
- Salvation Army Edmonton Community & Family Services
- United Way Fort McMurray
- Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of Canada
- Edmonton Community Foundation for the Craig Simpson & Friends Charity Fund
The EOCF is also proud to support Oilers employees in their giving through the employee matching program. Each year, the EOCF will match one donation per employee up to $100.
