Edmonton Oilers assistant coach, Kelly Buchberger, will be Honourary Chair of the Safeway™ Father’s Day Run for Prostate Cancer on Sunday June 21st, 2009. Kelly and his family will be attending the race and participating in the race-day festivities.
“I’m pleased to take part in an event that promotes wellness and supports prostate cancer prevention and research,” said Buchberger. “The Edmonton Oilers have always been supportive when it comes to cancer research and we’d all love to see the day when a cure is found.”
The Safeway™ Father’s Day Run features a 5km run and a 1.6km walk which invites families to participate together. After the race, participants will enjoy a free pancake breakfast. The race is being held at Laurier Park which is accessible by public transit and has ample parking.
