EDMONTON, AB - The Oilers will host the Los Angeles Kings and Anaheim Ducks this week, beginning with the Kings on Tuesday.
Edmonton is 5-1-0 against squads within their own division this season and are aware of the ground they need to make up in order to stay relevant.
"These games are even more important," said Darnell Nurse, who has 13 points in 39 games this season. "We have a lot of them (Pacific Division games) in the second half of the year."
Following the 5-0 loss to the Winnipeg Jets on New Year's Eve, the club is trying to remain positive as they re-calibrate their game to what it was before the Christmas break.

"Before the break, we were rolling well and playing a lot better," said Ryan Nugent-Hopkins. "We know we can get back to that, it's just a matter of finding it again and getting back to that winning attitude."
Nugent-Hopkins maintained it all begins with being responsible defensively.
"Usually when we play well, we defend well first," he said. "Then we get our offence from that. It all starts from the back end up."
