After stepping into the starting role against the Los Angeles Kings on Sunday and making 47 saves in a shootout loss, Richard Bachman earned both another start tonight against Toronto but also the confidence of his teammates.
"He was outstanding that game," said Oilers centre Ryan Nugent-Hopkins. "He was outstanding. Positionally, he was always in perfect position and he battled hard to get pucks. As players, we see that. We see him battling and it makes you want to work harder for your goaltender."
The Oilers players regretted not giving the backstop more support on their end, something they'll try to do tonight.
"We didn't do a great job of limiting the shots for him but we were lucky to have him back there the other night."
