Edmonton City Council has delayed its arena debate to allow time for City Administration to come up with options to bridge the remaining $55 million gap in funding for the project. Administration had recommended approving an agreement with Oilers owner Daryl Katz and determine the source of the shortfall later. Administration could report back as soon as the next City Council meeting, May 22. Afterwards, Katz Group Executive Vice President John Karvellas thanked Council and Administration and expressed optimism a deal would ultimately be achieved.
