2011 Draft Lottery Simulator
by edmontonoilers.com staff / Edmonton OilersA look at the NHL's draft lottery selection machine. |
With the Draft Lottery, all 14 non-playoff teams have an opportunity to win the draw. A win means that you can move up no more than four spots. For the teams ranked fifth or higher that means a draft lottery victory ensures they will win the coveted first-overall position.
The Oilers have a 25.0% chance of winning the draft lottery outright and a 48.2% chance of gaining the first overall pick. If any team ranked sixth through 14th wins the lottery, the Oilers retain top spot.
The Draft Lottery Drawing for the 2011 NHL Entry Draft will be held Tuesday, April 12 at 6:00 p.m. MDT. Can't wait until then? We've created a simulator with all the actual odds built in so you can test out and see how the Oilers might do. Click the button below and try it out.
