Winning becomes a 'habit' for perfect Capitals

ARLINGTON, Va. (AP) - The Washington Capitals have started the NHL season with seven straight wins. Now it's time to test that streak with their first multigame road trip.

The Capitals left Tuesday for Canada, where they'll play Edmonton on Thursday before a much-anticipated showdown with Vancouver on Saturday.

Washington leads the NHL in goals per game and power-play percentage, but it's also caught a break with a schedule. The Capitals have played five of seven at home and have faced a disproportionate amount of No. 2 goalies.

Forward Brooks Laich points out that his teammates haven't done any over-the-top celebrating during the streak. He says it's "nice to see that winning has started to become a habit."
