Williams, Oshie each score a goal, Holtby stops 29 shots as Capitals defeat Blue Jackets 2-1 @NHLdotcom

WASHINGTON - Justin Williams and T.J. Oshie each scored a goal to lift the Washington Capitals to a 2-1 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets on Friday night.

Braden Holtby made 29 saves to help the Capitals avoid back-to-back losses for the first time this year after falling 3-1 to Pittsburgh on Wednesday.

Sergei Bobrovsky stopped 26 shots for the Jackets.

Williams scored his second goal of the season to give Washington the lead at 14:16 in the second.

After Washington killed two penalties, Oshie's fourth goal of the season made it 2-0 at 11:59 in the third when the Capitals finished a 3-on-2 breakaway.

Matt Calvert scored in the third period for Columbus, which fell to 2-2-0 under new coach John Tortorella.
