Wild re-sign Sheppard; make offers to 5 @NHLdotcom
The Minnesota Wild have re-signed center James Sheppard.

Sheppard scored 2 goals and 4 assists in 64 games last season, his third in the NHL. He has 11 goals and 38 assists in 224 career games and set a Wild single-season record for games played by a rookie with 78 in 2007-08 (tied by Cal Clutterbuck in 2008-09). Sheppard was originally selected by Minnesota in the first round, ninth pick, of the 2006 Entry Draft.

The Wild also made qualifying offers to the following five restricted free agents: left wing Guillaume Latendresse, goalie Josh Harding, goalie Anton Khudobin, defenseman Nate Prosser and left wing Matt Kassian. Minnesota will not qualify center Morten Madsen and defenseman Jamie Fraser.
