WHL Roundup: Patrick scores twice, including winner, as Brandon downs Moose Jaw @NHLdotcom

MOOSE JAW, Sask. - Nolan Patrick scored twice ? including the winner at 19:31 of the third period ? as the Brandon Wheat Kings came from behind to edge the Moose Jaw Warriors 6-5 on Wednesday in Western Hockey League action.

Tim McGauley also had a pair of goals as Brandon snapped the Warriors' three-game win streak.

John Quenneville scored once and set up two more while Linden McCorrister added the other for the Wheat Kings (18-9-3), who trailed 5-4 before Quenneville tied the game at 18:42 of the third.

Jayden Halbgewachs struck twice for Moose Jaw (15-10-5), which also got goals from Josh Brook, Landon Quinney and Brett Howden.

Logan Thompson started in net for Brandon and allowed four goals on 21 shots in two periods of action. Jordan Papirny made five saves in relief to record the win. Warriors netminder Zach Sawchenko made 48 saves in a losing cause.

The Wheat Kings went 1 for 3 on the power play while Moose Jaw scored once on two chances with the man advantage.



REGINA ? Carsen Twarynski broke a 3-3 deadlock midway through the third and Cody Porter made 30 saves as Calgary slipped past the Pats for its fourth straight victory.

Jakob Stukel and Travis Sanheim each had a goal and an assist for the Hitmen (20-11-2) while Layne Bensmiller added the other.

Colton Kroeker, Lane Zablocki and Connor Hobbs responded for Regina (14-12-3). Jordan Hollett turned away 26-of-30 shots in defeat.



MEDICINE HAT, Alta. ??? Lane Pederson had two goals and two assists and Brandon Hagel scored once and added three helpers as Red Deer beat the Tigers.

Conner Bleackley had a goal and two assists to round out the Rebels' (20-10-0) offence while Rylan Toth made 32 saves for the win.

Max Gerlach, Mason Shaw and Alex Mowbray supplied the offence for Medicine Hat (8-17-3). Mack Shields gave up two goals on 10 shots in 12:32 of action. Nick Schneider turned away 15-of-17 shots, taking the loss in relief.



EVERETT, Wash. ??? Rihards Bukarts scored three times and added an assist and Alex Schoenborn had a goal and three helpers as Portland held off the Silvertips.

Caleb Jones scored once and set up two more for the Winterhawks (14-14-0) while Colton Veloso and Cody Glass added a goal apiece. Adin Hill made 33 saves for the victory.

Carson Stadnyk led Everett (15-10-2) with two goals and an assist. Remi Laurencelle, Jake Christiansen and Yan Khomenko also scored while Carter Hart stopped 24-of-31 shots in a losing cause.



SPOKANE, Wash. ??? Tyson Verhelst stopped 37 shots and Jacob Cardiff had a goal and an assist as the Chiefs doubled up Seattle.

Keanu Yamamoto, Adam Helewka and Taylor Ross also found the back of the net for Spokane (16-10-3).

Jamal Watson had both goals for the Thunderbirds (17-9-2). Taz Burman stopped 12-of-15 shots before giving way to Logan Flodell, who made five saves in 27:52 of relief.
