Werek's pair leads the Kingston Frontenacs past Peterborough 2-1 @NHLdotcom

PETERBOROUGH, Ont. - Ethan Werek scored a pair of goals to lead the Kingston Frontenacs past the Peterborough Petes 2-1 in Ontario Hockey League action Saturday.

Werek's second power play goal, 1:27 into the third period, proved the winner for the last-place Frontenacs (9-28-4-2), who dropped nine of their last 10 games.

Ryan Spooner cut the lead to one and gave the Petes (18-23-0-2) a chance with 2:21 left in the final period, but they couldn't tie it up.

John Cullen made 30 saves to pick up the win for Kingston while Ryan Daniels stopped 36 shots in a losing cause.
