Two hat tricks, two penalty shots and seven goals added up to one decisive victory for the Spokane Chiefs.
Tyler Johnson and Drayson Bowman each finished with three goals, including two made on penalty shots by Bowman, as the Chiefs powered past the Seattle Thunderbirds for a 7-3 Western Hockey League victory on Wednesday night. For Bowman it was his second hat trick of the season while Johnson recorded his first career three goal game.
Ondrej Roman also scored for Spokane and Dustin Tokarski finished with 19 saves in net for the Chiefs (39-16-0-3).
Mitch Wahl notched three assists and Bowman and Johnson each had an assist to compliment their hat tricks.
Elsewhere in the WHL, it was: Wheat Kings 4, Tigers 1; Bruins 4, Rockets 3 (SO); Silvertips 7, Winterhawks 3; Raiders 4, Warriors 3; and Hitmen 5, Blades 1.
At Spokane, Wash., Jeremy Boyer scored two goals for Seattle and Thomas Hickey scored once.
Netminder Calvin Pickard made 15 saves for the Thunderbirds (27-29-1-3).
