The Saskatoon Blades and Moose Jaw Warriors continue heading in opposite directions in the Western Hockey League's East Division.

Adam Chorneyko scored three goals and added an assist as the Blades cruised past the Warriors 7-3 in Western Hockey League action. With the victory, Saskatoon (25-10-2-0) maintained its 10-point lead over the Brandon Wheat Kings atop the East Division standings. The Blades have won eight of their past 11 games, and are 2-0 against the Warriors this season.

Moose Jaw (10-23-0-1) has dropped two straight, and owns the worst mark in the Eastern Conference. Only the woeful Portland Winter Hawks have a worse record than the Warriors, who rank second-last in the conference in goals for (99) and last in goals allowed (158).

Saskatoon took control early, with Chorneyko scoring 1:59 in and adding his second of the game halfway through the period. The Blades' Jyri Niemi made it 3-0 before Moose Jaw responded with a goal from Tomas Karpov, prompting a torrential downpour of stuffed animals from the crowd on Teddy Bear Night.

Ryley Grantham cut into the lead in the second period before Burke Gallimore and Derek Hulak increased the Blades' lead to 5-2.

In other WHL action Wednesday, it was: Calgary 8 Prince Albert 4; Brandon 4 Lethbridge 3 (SO); Kelowna 3 Edmonton 0; Kootenay 3 Medicine Hat 0; Swift Current 3 Chilliwack 0; and Prince George 3 Kamloops 2.

At Moose Jaw, Sask., the third period saw plenty of late action, as Joel Broda fought Gallimore, and Travis Hamonic brought Moose Jaw to within two goals. But Chorneyko added his third of the game and Josh Nicholls scored into an empty net for Saskatoon to put the game out of reach.

With regular starting goaltender Jeff Bosch injured, Deven Dubyk got the call for the Warriors and made 27 saves on 33 shots. Saskatoon's Adam Morrison made 23 saves on 26 shots for the victory.

Hitmen 8 Raiders 4

At Prince Albert, Sask., Kyle Bortis and Brandon Kozun each had a goal and two assists as Calgary routed the Raiders.

Carson McMillan and Alex Plante had a goal and an assist for the Hitmen (31-5-1-1), while Rigby Burgart, Keith Seabrook, Paul Postma and Jason MacDonald also scored.

Ryan McDonald scored twice, while Dustin Cameron and Matt Robertson added singles for Prince Albert (15-22-2-0).

Wheat Kings 4 Hurricanes 3 (SO)

At Brandon, Man., Scott Glennie and Brayden Schenn scored shootout goals to lift the Wheat Kings past Lethbridge.

Del Cowan, Andrew Clark and Matt Lowry scored in regulation for Brandon (20-13-1-1).

Carter Ashton, Colton Sceviour and Garrett Taylor scored for the Hurricanes (20-14-0-2).

Rockets 3 Oil Kings 0

At Edmonton, Kris Lazaruk turned aside 31 shots as Kelowna blanked the Oil Kings.

Shane McColgan, Cody Almond and Dylan Hood scored for the Rockets (20-14-0-0).

Torrie Jung made 24 saves to absorb the loss for Edmonton (15-19-2-3).

Ice 3 Tigers 0

At Cranbrook, B.C., Nathan Lieuwen made 29 saves as the Ice silenced Medicine Hat.

Jesse Ismond, Matt Fraser and Dustin Sylvester had the goals for Kootenay (18-14-2-3).

Ryan Holfeld was sensational for the Tigers (21-11-3-3), turning aside 48 shots in defeat.

Broncos 3 Bruins 0

At Chilliwack, B.C.,Mark Guggenberger made 35 saves to lead Swift Current over the Bruins.

Cody Eakin, Keegan Dansereau and Matt Tassone scored for the Broncos (21-15-0-1).

Mark Friesen stopped 18 shots for the Bruins (10-22-2-2).

Cougars 3 Blazers 2

At Prince George, B.C.,Kevin Armstrong made 35 saves and the George Cougars held on to beat Kamloops.

Brian Matte, Greg Fraser, and Tyler Halliday scored for Prince George (14-21-0-1).

Zak Stebner and Shayne Wiebe replied for the Blazers (14-19-1-3).
